Adding Employer Identification Number (EIN)

An Employer Identification Number (EIN) is a unique nine-digit number issued by the IRS to identify a business for tax purposes. Under the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), an EIN is required to verify the entity's existence and ensure accurate filings.

To capture an EIN in EntityKeeper, simply:

1. Navigate to the Entities tab and click the desired entity's name.
   
   
2. On the entity overview page, click the Jurisdictions tab as noted below.
   
   
   
   
3. The EIN field can be found in the "Employer ID / Federal Tax ID / EIN" column.
   
   
   
   
4. From here, you can enter the EIN by updating an existing jurisdiction (pencil icon) or adding a new jurisdiction (plus icon).
   
   
   
   
5. When you are finished, click Save!
